Grammar

if 引导真实条件句

  1. if 引导的从句（clause）通常用现在时态表示将来，表示 “如果 … 就 …”，在对话中也可以用 be going to 代替动词的现在时态。例如，

    • We’ll need more chairs if we invite so many people to the party.
    • We’ll need more chairs if we’re going to invite so many people to the party.

  2. 表示提供帮助，提出要求或建议，主句用祈使句（imperative sentence）。例如，

    • Take another sandwich if you’re hungry.

  3. 表示在这种条件下某事是真实的。例如，

    • The music stops if you press the button.
    • If you leave now, you will be able to catch the 7 o’clock train.
    • If you have a mobile phone, check if it is turned off.
    • The light turns on itself if there is some sound.
