Word Preparation

tourist destination: 旅游景点；旅游胜地

Yosemite National Park is a big tourist destination.

It might be crowded there because it’s a famous tourist destination.

in person: 亲自，本人，当面

if you do something or go somewhere in person, you do it or go there yourself.

I’m so happy I got to see Oprah Winfrey in person.

I’ve only seen Anne Hathaway in movies and never in person.

Grammar

‘have been to’ vs. ‘have gone to’

have been to 表示 “曾经去过”，现在不在那个地方了；have gone to 表示 “去了”，现在已经到达那个地方。

  • I’ve been to Italy many times. Milan is the one that I like the most.
  • He seems to know the city quite well. He may have been there before.
  • Linda could not have gone to America, because I saw her on the street yesterday.
