Word Preparation

notice: 注意，留意

to see or become conscious of something or someone

I just noticed you got a haircut.
我刚注意到你剪头发了。

If you noticed anything strange, let us know right away.

take a break from something: 休息一会儿

to have a short rest period

You should take a break from work if you’re tired.

give someone a call: 给某人打电话

to call someone on the phone

If you need anything, just give me a call.

walk around: 随意走走，四处走走

to walk without going anywhere

Sometimes Grace like to walk around the mall and window-shop.

watch over someone: 照看某人

to look after someone

time doing enjoyable activities or spent relaxing with someone

Grammar

spend, take, cost, pay的用法

spend的主语（subject）必须是人，常用结构如下：
spend time/money on sth.; spend time/money (in) doing sth.
例如，

  • I spent two hours on this work.
  • They spent two million dollars (in) building this bridge.

take一般用it做主语，常用结构如下：
It take sb. + time + to do sth.
例如，

  • It took them two years to finish the project.

cost的主语是物，常用结构如下：
sth. cost (sb.) + money
例如，

  • The car cost him around 150,000 yuan.

pay的主语是人，常用于以下结构：
sb. pay + money for sth.
例如，

  • They have to pay 1,000 dollars for this room each month.
